I think I fixed it just moments before you tried to compile:

r310 | khorben | 2008-11-17 16:17:58 +0100 (Mon, 17 Nov 2008) | 2 lines

No longer use LD_LIBRARY_PATH for ./configure

You may have to manually delete this file after updating the SVN tree to this revision:

Apps/GNU/Sources/gettext/.configure-done

It will force the compilation process to start over at the configuration phase (here, running "./configure" adequately).

Therefore, I am closing this bug, but do not hesitate to re-open it if it still doesn't work.

I'm at revision 311 and I have the exact same problem while compiling Python (even tried a make distclean here).

Replying to vcaron:

I am confused, the title says getopt and the log attached fails in gettext... I fixed gettext yesterday, getopt had the same problem but was fixed a week ago, and python's build error is already documented in #5. This bug is then a duplicate, and I keep #5 which has more information about the error.

Sorry about that, I totally mixed up #4 and #5. This one is absolutely fixed.
